Shaun Cobbs is the Owner and Managing Director of Principal IT Consultants, a Northern Virginia–based managed IT and cybersecurity firm serving small and mid-sized businesses across the DMV region. With more than 25 years of experience in the IT industry, Shaun brings deep technical expertise, strategic leadership, and a hands-on approach to helping organizations build secure, reliable, and scalable technology environments.

Shaun has led and delivered complex IT initiatives across both the private and public sectors, supporting clients ranging from small businesses and nonprofits to large enterprises and government organizations. His experience includes infrastructure modernization, cloud and data center migrations, cybersecurity and compliance programs, disaster recovery and business continuity planning, and enterprise-wide digital transformation efforts. He has successfully managed projects for organizations such as DLA Piper, DHS Headquarters, and major insurance and professional services firms, consistently delivering measurable improvements in performance, security, and cost efficiency.

In addition to leading Principal IT Consultants, Shaun has held senior infrastructure and security leadership roles, including overseeing on-prem and cloud environments, audit and regulatory compliance, and enterprise security strategy. He is known for his ability to translate complex technical challenges into practical, business-focused solutions—helping leadership teams make confident, informed decisions about technology investments.

Shaun holds multiple industry certifications, including Security+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), and Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS).
